This rub is all you need to blacken anything! I recently blackened some catfish fillets with it, and was pleasantly surprised by the other flavors apparent in this seasoning, besides what makes it hot. That is, although it is hot (like any good blackening seasoning should be), you can taste the other intended flavors whereas store-bought seasonings might overwhelm your taste buds with the heat.
Also, as with other rubs and seasonings I've tried from the Spice-Guy Store, this seasoning is remarkably fresh. You can definitely tell the difference between these seasonings and stuff sitting around on the shelf at the grocery store. I will buy this one again.
